••• Instruction Sheet for Submitting Computer-Related Items for Sale

  • Computer-related items also include: books, accessories, equipment, etc.
  • You may submit more than one item, but each item needs to be submitted individually for sale.
  • If the seller has several of the same item, it will be listed once, and the buyer can select the number of quantities they wish to purchase. 

1 - PREPARE ITEM FOR SALE
 - wipe/dust/clean all items to the best of your ability.

For Macs and iPhone/iPad - it is best to follow Apple procedures to erase and prepare.

2 - TAKE GOOD PHOTOS showing all details. 
1-4 well-lit, clear, close-up photos showing all items together that come with the sale (ex. cord, cover, etc.) View different sides of an item (if applicable). 

3 - COMPILE YOUR “FOR SALE” INFORMATION and all details.
  • Name • Address • Phone • Email
  • NAME OF ITEM for sale
  • WRITE-UP and approximate date when originally purchased (if applicable).
  • CONDITION - description of item referring to extent of usage, scratches, etc.
  • COMPATIBILITY - (if applicable - for example iPhone 6 or 6s).
  • REASON FOR SELLING - (if applicable).
  • PRICE -  Original price $_____ and Asking price $_____ 
  • LINK A WEBSITE to the same/similar item to get a list of the technical features (if applicable).  
  • You could use websites like http://www.everymac.com or Apple's  
  • https://support.apple.com/en_US/specs link to specs of the equipment you are selling. 

4 - EMAIL YOUR INFORMATION
to president@tcmug.net for publishing. Attach photos as jpg or png.


5 - THE SALES RECEIPT will be emailed to both the buyer and seller.

6 - CONTACT BUYER ASAP and meet to exchange the purchased item(s). 

7 - HAVE THE BUYER EMAIL president@tcmug.net that the item(s) were received to their satisfaction, so that payment can be released to the seller. Sales can be refunded if the deal does not go through to everyone’s satisfaction.

••• TCMUG Buyer & Seller information    
  • You must be an active TCMUG member to place an item for sale on tcmug.net
  • Seller receives 100% of the sale monies, minus a small credit card fee (2.9% plus 30¢ per transaction).
  • TCMUG is offering a chance for current members to sell locally. It is not set up for bidding on an item, and the seller's price usually does not include shipping. 
  • If a member does live far away from the Martin - St. Lucie area and wishes to include shipping, they should figure the cost of shipping and should mention both the item’s price and price for shipping.
  • All items for sale on tcmug.net are considered active.
  • Credit cards and Paypal are acceptable ways to buy items on the tcmug.net website.
  • TCMUG is only responsible for the purchase transaction, and not in regard to the quality, etc. of the item.
  • TCMUG as an organization, provides education for its members, and does not endorse or sell products. 
  • All sale items remain in the possession of the seller, and it is at their discretion regarding when and where to meet the buyer. Everyone is welcome to meet at the TCMUG meeting (once each month).
  • Items can remain on the tcmug.net website until sold. 
  • Sellers need to respond to a monthly check-in from president@tcmug.net that your item is still available for sale, and it is the seller’s responsibility to email president@tcmug.net regarding any changes in the mean time.
